Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has denied reports of a power struggle with Cristiano Ronaldo as a club battle to end the season in the top four of the Premier League. Maguire has been far below his best this season and feels the United captain has been undermined by Ronaldo's influence, and his series role as captain has been called into question. United forward Marcus Rashford earlier this week dismissed talk of a dressing room split involving Ronaldo and Maguire denied recent reports. Ahead of Sunday's Premier League match in Leeds, he posted on Twitter on Friday that "many reports about this club are not true, this is another".
"I'm not going to start posting about everything that's written, but I had to make this clear. We're focusing on Sunday together. Enjoy your day everyone."
United's 2-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday lifted them back to fourth place at the English top - all four of the first four teams to qualify for next season's Champions League.
But the club, under interim manager Ralph Ranknick, is facing a tough battle, and many factions are in the mix, most of them holding games on hand.
