Kolkata Knight Riders to buy 5 players in IPL 2022 auction
Here are the five players we think Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) should go to in the IPL 2022 mega auction
The mega auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) season is set to take place on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore. In an attempt to get the strongest possible organization, the existing eight teams are in contention with two new owners, the Lucknow Super Giants, and the Gujarat Lions. Before the mega auction, two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) retained four players. West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell and Sunil Narine have been retained along with Varun Chakraborty and Venkatesh Iyer. They will go down in a mega auction with a purse of Rs 48 crore.
List of players retained by Kolkata Knight Riders
Varun Chakraborty (Rs 8 crore)
Venkatesh Iyer (Rs 8 crore)
Sunil Narine (Rs 6 crore)
Here are the five players we think Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) should go to in the IPL 2022 mega auction:
1. David Warner (maximum Rs. 5 crores)
David Warner also has the leadership qualities to succeed at KKR. He led Sunrisers Hyderabad to the IPL title in 2016 and it is fair to say that he could be the right person to lead KKR after Ian Morgan and Dinesh Karthik were released by the owners.
2. Shreyas Iyer (maximum Rs. 7 crores)
Apart from Warner, Shreyas Iyer is another player who will be monitored by every team before the auction. Apart from his exploits with the bat, Shreyas could also be a great leader who took the Delhi Capitals to the final in 2020.
3. Lucky Ferguson (maximum Rs. 5 crores)
Lucky Ferguson has not featured much for KKR in the last two seasons of the IPL, mostly due to injuries and Pat Cummins. However, whenever he gets a chance to shake hands, Ferguson does not fail to impress, which is why KKR should look to buy him back.
4. Devat Padikkal (Maximum Rs. 4 crore)
Just as Shubman Gill was released from the KKR, Devant Padikkal's exit from the RCB was a shocking one. With Gill added to the Gujarat Lions squad, Padikkal could be the best man to replace him at the top of the order.

5. Sheikh Rashid (maximum Rs. 75 lakhs)
Sheikh Rashid, who was the vice-captain of India's 2022 U19 World Cup squad, was in excellent form for the team in the tournament. For the past few years, KKR has been struggling to find stability in their middle-order, and Rashid could solve the problem by considering his performances at the recent U19 World Cup.
